To be successful with any kit you need to be realistic about your own skills and what to expect at this cost point.

To get a good quality finish you need to put in time to sand out the marks left by the finishing equipment used at the factory which can be difficult to spot before you start applying finishes but with diligence you can get a very respectable looking guitar. The neck fits the pocket well at the right angle.

The real weak point is the indifferent quality of some of the hardware..........the bridge is particularly poor...you'll need to able to solder (or know someone who can) as its not a five minute job.............stick with it and you might be pleasantly surprised......... Photo will be added to gallery soon

Very impressed with this kit.... I did change the wiring as have a good background in audio and electronics. ... The finished guitar was better than I could have hoped for. ... It looks stunning and sounds brilliant.... I can not recommend these kits enough and am now looking at the telecaster project.... If I can persuade my wife that it is absolutely necessary :)
also wish I could post photos here to show off my hard work

Couldn’t be more impressed with this kit. Was a bit skeptical about the quality of the pickups and intended changing them once I got confident with the wiring but they sound fantastic so I’m keeping them.

As one reviewer said, the bridge is the weak point (it’s a bit rattly), but I have a Gibson SG and an Epiphone Dot and the bridges are all exactly the same width so I bought a new Gotoh bridge which fits perfectly. Might change the tuners for some Grovers but that’s not absolutely necessary as it stays in tune as well as all my other guitars.

Can’t stop playing the finished guitar, will definitely buy from Kit Built Guitars again.

I've built two of the LP model kits now, and have to say that the quality is excellent. Lovely figured maple veneer on both examples, no issues with shape, routing etc. Wiring may be a little fiddly for a beginner, but nothing that a quick look on Youtube can't help with.
I've replaced the pickups in my guitar with Gibson '57 classics (not that there were any problems with the stock pups), and even with that added expense, for less than a quarter of the price of a Gibson, I've got a great-looking, amazing sounding and unique instrument, AND I kept myself out of trouble for a few weeks in what was a really fulfilling project :)
